Strawberry & Lime Sparkler

SparklingStrawberry4This Strawberry and Lime Sparkler is a light and refreshing non-alcoholic drink.

It is a thirst quencher that is perfect for sipping by the pool or on a warm summer evening.

This virgin drink  is made with fresh strawberries, muddled with a spoonful of raw honey and a generous squeeze of lime. Add ice and sparkling water; sit back and enjoy.

Does summer get any better this?

Strawberry & Lime Sparkler- A refreshing virgin drink made with sparkling water, lime, honey and strawberries. My new favorite drink!!

Disclosure: Today’s recipe features Pellegrino sparkling water. I am in no way affiliated with Pellegrino and am not being paid for this post- I just really love the product and wanted to share that love with you today.

I’m baaaaaack. I’ve missed you, lovely readers!

So my June “holiday” was not so much of a holiday in the, uh, true sense of the word. It consisted of training at a new job. Annnnnd…. training for the blog!! I’ve been working with the wonderfully talented Kait, who is a young and fiery social media marketing guru. (She even has her own travel blog– how cool is that?) Anywaaaaays….Kait is teaching me all about branding and Pinterest and throwing around terms like “embedded Pinterest board” and “consistent brand imaging.” Seriously, I need this girl in my life. Because I have NO idea about these things. And, well, sometimes these things make my head start to spin a teensy bit.

Which is where drinking comes in. Except for the tiny fact that I’m a terrible drinker. I really have made valiant efforts to take up the art of social drinking, but truth be told, it just doesn’t work for me. I cannot get through a half glass of wine without feeling tipsy. And alcohol makes me a little too honest. No one needs the kind of honesty I deliver after a single glass of wine.

So, I’ve become the girl who orders tea. I cannot count the number of times that I meet friends for drinks, and I proceed to order tea.  It usually works out well, except for that one time I accidentally ordered green tea at 11 pm and was still wide awake at 3 am. (Note to self:  don’t just order tea because you like the fancy name- check caffeine level.)

I have also embraced the beauty of sparkling water as an excellent replacement for alcohol. (Or, “tickle water” as a little girl in my life calls sparkling water.)

I’ve been drinking sparkling water for years as a special “treat” when I feel like a touch of luxury. I get a certain thrill out of buying Pellegrino in the large glass bottles and pouring it over ice with a wedge of lime or lemon. I know it sounds simple, but it makes me feel posh and sophisticated and well…. not deprived of wine or beer.

Strawberry & Lime Sparkler

Today’s recipe features Pellegrino sparkling water in an especially delightful way- with fresh summers strawberries and honey and lime!! Oh my goodness- I cannot handle all this summer goodness. I may or may not have had, um, four or five of these this week. And I’m already looking forward to another this afternoon. Because this drink is that GOOD.

I tried to think of all the ways I could describe this drink and my brain kind of bursted with all the possibilities….

Refreshing!

Delightful!

Summer excitement in a glass!

Sparkly!

Citrus zesty goodness!

Sweet strawberry awesomeness with honey loveliness and lime zestiness!

So yeah…. please just go try it. Seriously. Get yourself some fresh strawberries from one of those great market stands that taste like summer in a single bite. And if you cannot get those, than grab a bag of frozen ones and thaw those. Because you need to try this recipe today.
